My Qualifications

As the chair of the HUCSC’s Executive Board, I feel that the most important characteristics of the President are the ability to lead, to manage, and to motivate.  As the chief student advocate at Huron, the President must be able to take feedback and turn it into opportunity.  Additionally, the President should possess at least a degree of competency in all four operating areas of the Executive: advocacy, programming, financial management, and communication.  Finally, the President should have a good handle on the workings and importance of governance, as it forms the basic structure of the Council.  Below you will find a list of the involvement I have had during my time at Huron, which I believe capture these characteristics:

Third Year

  • Huron's Head Soph

  • Political Science Representative on the HUCSC and Huron's Academic Council

  • Student Senator on the Western University Senate and the USC

  • Western Varsity Fencing Team

  • USC Long-Term Plan and Budget Standing Committee

Second Year

  • Operations Manager of the Beaver Dam

  • Member of Huron's Soph Team

First Year

  • Member of the Huron Underground Dramatic Society

  • Member of Western Model United Nations
